Welsh Wildlife Centre

Welsh Wildlife Centre in Cilgerran, Pembrokeshire, is set within the stunning Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve and is one of the most rewarding family days out in West Wales. Entry to the reserve and visitor centre is completely free, making it brilliant value for a full day out in nature.

Inside the visitor centre there is a learning through play area for younger children with wildlife colouring, drawing and quizzes, a wildlife film screen, an interpretation centre and a gift shop packed with nature inspired souvenirs. Friendly volunteers are on hand to answer questions and provide maps to help you make the most of the reserve.

Outside there is loads to explore. Four themed nature trails wind around Teifi Marsh Nature Reserve, ranging from easy access paths to more adventurous routes. Bird hides give patient visitors the chance to spot kingfishers, otters and wading birds, while willow sculptures including a giant otter and badger make for great photo spots. There is also an adventure play area outside the café, a geocaching trail and canoe hire available from Heritage Canoes on site.

The Glasshouse Café serves handmade, locally sourced food including soups, filled paninis, daily specials, a children’s menu and a tempting range of homemade cakes. You can check their food hygiene rating before you visit using the button on this page.

Parking is £5 for all day, free for members and residents in the SA43 and SA37 postcode areas with proof of residency. Only assistance dogs are permitted inside the visitor centre, though there is an outside balcony for dog owners wishing to use the café.
