Carew Karting

Carew Karting, Pembrokeshire — Now Permanently Closed

Carew Karting, the outdoor go karting circuit on a former WWII airfield near Sageston in Pembrokeshire, closed permanently on Sunday, 23rd August 2026. The track had been running since May 1999, starting out on concrete before being resurfaced with asphalt in 2000 and extended to its full 500 metre length in 2004. It was a firm family favourite for anyone looking for an afternoon of speed just five miles from Tenby.

Carew Karting welcomed both novice and experienced drivers, with a minimum age of 8 and a height requirement of 1.35m for junior karts, meaning families could often race in the same session. Countless West Wales birthdays, stag and hen dos, and casual days out were spent lapping the old airfield circuit over the years.

The team behind Carew Karting shared the news of the closure themselves, saying it had not been an easy decision but that the time had come to close the circuit and begin the next chapter. They thanked everyone who had visited over the years, whether once or hundreds of times, for the memories made at the track, and invited racers to join them for one final session before the gates shut for good.

If you’re reading this hoping to book a session, unfortunately that’s no longer possible. Carew Karting is closed to the public and is not taking bookings or payments. We’re keeping this page live for anyone searching to find out what happened to the track, updated here rather than left with old prices and booking details that no longer apply.

Since Carew Karting is no longer open, if you’re after somewhere else to get behind the wheel, take a look at our full guide to sports activities in West Wales for more family friendly options, including other go karting venues, across the region.
