Would your Family Recycle Crisps Packets for Charity?
Did you know that you can turn your family’s empty crisp packets into donations for charity and not for profit organisations?
TerraCycle and Walkers have partnered to create a free recycling scheme which accepts all brands of crisps packets.
You can drop-off your used crisp packets at public drop-off locations across West Wales and when the drop off location sends them off, they are given reward points, which means you could help raise money for local good causes.
How they are Recycled
The science of recycling is focused on recovering the materials that an object is made of. For example, recycling a used pen involves shredding it, separating the materials that it was made from, then melting those materials into raw materials that can be then used to make new recycled products.
So once your crisp packets are collected, the packets will be shredded before being turned into practical outdoor products such as garden benches or watering cans.
By volume, TerraCycle recycles over 97% of the waste they collect.

Set up Your Own Public Drop-off Location
If there isn’t a drop off location close enough to you or you would like to earn TerraCycle points for the local good cause of your choice, then you can actually set up a drop off location of your own. Some
Almost anywhere can be set-up as a public collection point, including shops, supermarkets, community centres, your home address and schools. All you need to do is register online, Click Here and click on “join programme for free” and fill in this application form.
Then when you’re ready to send a shipment of empty crisps packet all you do is download a free UPS label from the TerraCycle website, attach it to your box and then simply order a free UPS pick-up – Super Easy
So maybe if your family and friends go through a lot of crisps you could all get to get and pick a charity you want to raise some funds for at the same time as loving the environment!
