Pumpkin Trail at Pembrey Country Park

The Pumpkin Trail at Pembrey Country Park returns this October half-term with a week of Halloween fun for younger children. Families collect a clue sheet from the Visitor Centre, then follow the trail through the woodlands, hunting for hidden clues and working together to solve the Halloween mystery, who knows what you might come across along the way.

It’s spooky rather than scary, so it suits little ones without any of the jumpy stuff. Once the challenge is complete, children get a Halloween treat waiting for them at the finish.

The trail is pushchair and wheelchair friendly, though the woodland paths can be a bit bumpy underfoot. Dogs are welcome too, as long as they’re kept on leads and any mess is cleaned up.

About the Venue

Pembrey Country Park is one of Wales’s top visitor attractions, combining coast and countryside on one site in Carmarthenshire. With 500 acres of woodland and eight miles of golden sands at Cefn Sands, plus a visitor centre, play area, cycle hire and café, it’s easy to get to and good value for a full family day out.

There’s a park parking fee on top of the trail cost, which is £7 per child, with no charge for accompanying parents or guardians. Sessions are non refundable, so it’s worth checking your diary before you book. Book your chosen day in advance on the Pembrey Country Park website, then arrive anytime between 11am and 4pm to collect your clue sheet from the Visitor Centre, last collection is 3pm, with prizes to be redeemed by 4pm. If you’re booking for 30th October, note that the trail closes earlier, at 1pm. Spaces are limited, so it’s worth booking early.
