Sunday Picture Book Club at Waterstones Aberystwyth

For families with young children who love stories, the Sunday Picture Book Club offers a lovely weekly opportunity to enjoy picture books together in a relaxed bookshop setting. Every Sunday afternoon at 3pm, Waterstones Aberystwyth hosts this free story time session where one of their friendly team members reads aloud to little listeners.

What Happens at Sunday Picture Book Club

The sessions are designed for younger children and run throughout the year, from early January right through to the end of November. Each week brings a fresh selection of picture books, giving children the chance to hear different stories and discover new favourites. Snacks are provided for all attendees, which is always a nice touch when you’re out with little ones.

There’s no need to book ahead, making it easy for families to drop in whenever it suits. This flexibility is particularly handy for parents with unpredictable toddler schedules or those who fancy a last-minute activity on a Sunday afternoon.

A Welcoming Venue for Young Readers

Waterstones Aberystwyth sits right in the centre of town on the main shopping street, making it easy to get to and simple to combine with other errands or a family wander around the shops. The bookshop is a popular destination for both adults and children, with a dedicated children’s section where the story sessions take place.

Perfect for Little Book Lovers

The Sunday Picture Book Club is ideal for pre-school and early primary age children who are just beginning to develop their love of reading. The weekly sessions provide a gentle introduction to books and stories in a sociable environment where children can meet others their age.

With no ticket price and snacks included, it’s excellent value for a regular Sunday afternoon activity that encourages early literacy and social interaction.
