The Halloween Ghost Train in Swansea sees the Swansea Bay Rider land train get a spooky makeover for special ghostly rides during the October half-term. Passengers climb aboard at Blackpill Lido for a ride along the scenic promenade, with departures each afternoon and evening from Monday 26 to Saturday 31 October. It’s an easy way to fit some Halloween fun into the school holidays without planning a whole day around it.
What to Expect from the Halloween Ghost Train in Swansea
Children are encouraged to dress up in their best Halloween costumes, so expect plenty of witches, skeletons and tiny pumpkins on board adding to the eerie atmosphere. Each ride lasts approximately 45 minutes, which is long enough to feel like a real outing without being too much for little legs. Every child also receives an “I Survived the Halloween Ghost Land Train 2026” certificate to remember their ghostly adventure, which makes a nice keepsake.
The earlier session is a gentler, less scary option for younger children and visitors with additional learning needs. If your family has a mix of ages or confidence levels, it’s worth a look, and older children will still enjoy the spooky theme.
