February Half Term at Llanerchaeron offers families a chance to explore this historic National Trust estate as it starts waking up from winter. Running from Wednesday 18th to Sunday 22nd February, the estate opens its doors with free activities that make the most of those first hints of spring in the air.

What’s Happening During February Half Term

The scarecrow trail is the main attraction during February Half Term at Llanerchaeron, taking families on a scenic walk around the lake, through the walled garden, and past the farmyard. It’s a lovely way to stretch little legs while spotting creative scarecrows dotted around the grounds. The trail gives families a proper look at the estate’s natural beauty, with early spring flowers starting to push through and wildlife becoming more active after the quiet winter months.

The Villa (House) reopens for the first time this year during half term, which means families can step inside and see the refreshed Georgian interiors. It’s worth popping in to see how the gentry lived back in the day, and the house tour doesn’t take too long if you’ve got restless children keen to get back outside.

The farmyard is always popular with younger visitors, offering a chance to see traditional farm animals up close. Combined with the trail and house tour, there’s easily a few hours of entertainment here without anyone getting bored.

Planning Your Visit to Llanerchaeron

Activities run daily from 10.30am until 4.30pm throughout half term week, and there’s no need to book in advance. The scarecrow trail and activities are free, though normal admission charges apply for entry to the estate. Adult tickets (18+) cost £12.10, children (5-17) are £6.10, and under-5s go free. Family tickets offer better value at £30.30 for two adults and up to three children, or £18.20 for one adult and up to three children.

Dogs on leads are welcome in most areas, including the walled gardens, lake, pleasure grounds, farmyard, car park, visitor centre, and cafe. They’re not allowed inside the Villa itself, but there’s plenty of space outside to keep four-legged friends happy. There’s parking on site and the venue is set up nicely for families, with facilities that make the day easier.
