Llanddewi Brefi Show

Llanddewi Brefi Show is a traditional agricultural show, and it’s a cracking day out if you fancy something a bit different these summer holidays. There’s an open horse section, a dog show, plus cattle, sheep, cookery, handicraft, photographic and YFC classes to wander round.

Judging gets underway from mid-morning, so it’s worth arriving early if you want to catch the horses and sheep being put through their paces. The local horticultural show is held inside the village hall, so there’s plenty to see even if the weather turns.

Farm produce judging is one for the kids to enjoy, with categories like best decorated wellington, longest bramble, longest thistle, a scarecrow competition and the largest bunch of hazelnuts. It’s the sort of thing that gets little ones giggling and grown-ups reminiscing about county shows of years gone by. Caterers will be on-site all day, so bring cash for lunch as well as the gate.

About the Venue

The show is held across Vicarage Field, Ganolfan Field and the village hall, by kind permission of Davies of Bryndulais, the Hall Committee and the Troed-y-Rhiw family. The hall sits south of the village, just off the Llanddewi Brefi to Ffarmers road, and is easy to get to.

Pricing Info

Admission is paid at the gate on the day, covering both the field and the hall. It’s £5 for adults, £4 for senior citizens, and £2 for children under 15, so it’s good value for a full day out. No advance booking is needed, just turn up and pay on arrival.
