Borth Animalarium

Borth Animalarium is a small rescue sanctuary rather than a traditional zoo, where you can meet animals with their own stories and personalities and take things at your own pace. Tickets are available on arrival, so there’s no need to book ahead for general admission.

You can join the free Petting Barn sessions at 11.30am and 2.30pm, included with your ticket, or book a hands-on experience like the Wolf-Dog Encounter with Cosmo and Zeus, a Silver Fox Encounter, or a Giant Tortoise Encounter. Most visitors spend around 1 to 2 hours exploring, and because it’s a smaller site, it feels calmer and more personal than a larger attraction. It’s an outdoor sanctuary, so it’s worth dressing for the weather and wearing comfortable shoes, as some areas can be uneven underfoot. There’s a café and toilets on site throughout opening hours.

Prices

Tickets are available on arrival, though booking online can help you skip the queue on busy days. Adults pay £10.50 and children £7.95, with concessions at £9.50 for adults and £6.50 for children. Under 3s go free, and a family ticket is £35. Animal experiences are booked separately, with prices ranging from around £20 for a Giant Tortoise or Pig Feeding encounter to £25 for a Silver Fox Encounter. The Wolf-Dog Encounter must be booked at least a day ahead, while the Petting Barn sessions are free and included with admission.
